AFTERNOON TEA WITH NEW COLLEAGUES AT MILLENIUM LOUNGE MEYDAN HOTEL

Afternoon tea is an English tradition way back 1800s of taking tea with three courses of finger food, sweets, scones, and savories or tea sandwiches. It is a delightful and relaxing time to sit back and really savor tea, treats, and good company.

Usually laid out on fine china, with a large pot of tea and three tiers of treats acting as the centerpiece. Afternoon tea served mid afternoon, intended as refreshment between lunch and a late dinner between four and five o’clock. Today, the afternoon tea times are often set by the teahouse, hotel, or inn.

It is an event that celebrates by the British tradition and my colleagues planned to make it as ideal way to celebrate many things with our department. I guess it is their way as a time for everyone to reward us for the hard work and boost the morale at a time when we may be feeling a little burnt out. We had so much things to thank for including baby shower, engagements as well as their welcome party for me as a new colleague. I was very overwhelmed.

There is a lot of benefits that come from celebrating events like this. From a team-building perspective, injects a little fun and creates an opportunity to highlight our culture. By rewarding and recognising teams reinforces that our company is a great place to work, and treating our team to an afternoon tea is something all employees will cherish, and will no doubt reflect positively on our team culture and engagement.

Still we can embrace this afternoon tea even though we surely missed the traditional merienda for Filipinos like banana cue, turon, kwek-kwek and fishball.
